Started in 2013, Light the Lamp Hockey Academy set out to accomplish one mission, make hockey training more practical regardless of climate or budget. The game of hockey continues to grow in traditional hockey markets, but more importantly it is booming in non-traditional hockey markets. The one biggest factor holding the game back, the cost of refrigerated ice surfaces requiring thousands of dollars each month to maintain; a cost that is transferred to YOU!!!

Light the Lamp seeks to remedy this by employing synthetic ice surfaces that eliminate the need for expensive refrigeration equipment without compromising the feel of a traditional ice surface. Synthetic ice offers another benefit, resistance training. Due to its composition, the amount of friction created between the skate blade and the synthetic ice surface is slightly increased compared to traditional ice, which forces the skater to maintain proper skating position and push harder with every stride. This translates into a faster, more explosive, and more powerful skater. We are so confident in this product that we guarantee each skater will see immediate results after only an hour on our synthetic ice surfaces.

Light the Lamp employs instructors who have played, coached, and more importantly, understand the game of hockey and what it takes to succeed on and off the ice.

Each Light the Lamp facility includes:

  • 2700 square feet synthetic ice sheet
  • 1650 square foot weight room
  • Classroom/Studio Space
  • A fully stocked Pro-shop
  • Locker Room facilities
  • An on-site hockey instructor

Parents, ask us about family plans that allow you to work out while your son/daughter skates. We also offer yoga and pilates classes in our studios.

Coaches, help make your team more dynamic by conducting off-ice conditioning in our weight room, while enhancing individual skills on our ice sheet.
